So I'm a 34 year old IT worker who lost most of her 20s to disability and was only able to properly start her career a couple years ago.
The good news is that I was able to pay off my student loans, I own my car ownright and I have no personal debt. The bad news is that my retirement savings are drastically underdeveloped for my age-I only have about 17k in a Roth Ira and 7 k in my company 401k (of which 5k is vested, currently contributing 13%). While some months I have a bit of money left over, other months emergencies come up where I run right up against my budget, so I usually wind up putting any excess cash into savings instead to prepare for them.
Realistically, short of getting a massive windfall what can I do to get myself back on track for retirement?
