The U.K. on Thursday said it now classes data centers as critical infrastructure. The move is expected to boost cybersecurity in the country. Data center operators will effectively be given a direct line to the government.

The U.S. government is planning to spend $10.45 billion on infrastructure projects. The U.K. government plans to spend an additional $2.5 billion on the construction of new schools.
