Hi all! We’re having new cabinets installed and our contractor added this white filler piece between the cabinet and the molding. However, we’re a little thrown off that it’s not flush with the cabinets and sticks out about 0.75 inches on all visible sides. He insisted this is standard practice so would love a gut check because we think it looks a bit odd.
Are we just overthinking this and all will look fine once painted and doors are put on? Bonus points if anyone has pics of their kitchens. This is hopefully our forever kitchen so we want to make sure it’s done right and looks good. TIA!
