I recently had a session with a financial planner and they had a tool / software for financial planning over a lifetime. I don't believe it was anything that couldn't be done in excel but it did look well and was easy to play around with.
It basically showed you yearly expenses and income in a bar and line graph. I could see when my son would finish college costs would drop. Same with mortgage.
I could plug in my mortgage and retirement fund etc. It gave a nice lifetime plan. It obviously took interest into account.
Is there anything like that out there to buy / sub to?
I use ynab but it doesn't do long term well.
