Hey there!
I’m planning to have a garden office built in a few months and I’d like to get some inspiration and ideas from you. It’s a tiny space (295x195cm / about 120”x78”) with one of the longer side fully open with a huge sliding door. Curtains and rolling shutters will be added but it’s a bright space with a wide view of the garden for when I’m WFH. This means 3 sides of the building may be used for whatever purposes.
What I have:
- 1 personal Macbook
- 1 company MacBook
- 1 company Windows PC
- 1 49” Ultrawide monitor
- 1x Ergotron HX HD monitor arm
- 1x IKEA Idasen 160x80cm (62”x31”) table
- Balolo Large Setup Cockpit + accessories
- 2x UPPSPEL pegboard 76x56cm (30”x22”) + accessories
- 1x chair
- 1x IKEA Alex drawer
- 1x AC
What I’d like to add to the office/chill space:
- 1x huge bean bag/sofa 190x90cm (75”x35”) - dark rustic brown faux-leather
- 1x TV to the ceiling with lay-flat mount (can be unfolded when ceiling/gaming from couch)
- Nanoleaf shapes
- ???
Ideally I’d like to position my desk on one of the shorter sides so sun doesn’t glare into the screen when I’m working and also I have peripheral vision of the garden. On this side, I’d like to cover the wall with acoustic wood slat wall panels (and maybe migrate my UPPSPEL boards to above the screen so I can put my peripherals there when not in use?).
On the other short side I’m planning to paint the wall something dark (maybe deep-forest green), add the bean sofa, so I’ can chill between meetings or play some games with my kids/freinds after work, etc. Above the sofa I’d position the Nanoleaf shapes and maybe some shelves above it with a few plants and photos to make it more natural and cozy and also have a nice background for my video calls when I’m working.
I currently have no idea what to put on longer wall - maybe some shelves, or my bass guitar which I rarely play nowadays?
Any input is appreciated, thanks in advance.
