Treasure Island is included because it's, to the best of my knowledge, the first adaptation of the book into a video game. I was torn between the different versions of the game, the Spectrum version has a much nicer cover art (as in it actually has some art on it), but went with the Plus4 as it came with a map of "Treasure Island".
Pirates! To be honest hardly needs justification because it still stands as one of the best attempts at making a Pirate video game nearly 40 years later. It's impressively deep for such an old game and, thanks to its nonlinear nature, allows for players to build their own story as they play. The fact its been revived and remade through the years is proof that it's a game to be treasured... [sorry]
I'm also looking to include...
The Secret of Monkey Island
Skies of Arcadia
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
Sea of Thieves
Can anyone think of any others that would fit the theme that are worthy of inclusion?
