I studied for a year in Alabama as an exchange student. Clearly when I left I hadn’t fully paid a medical bill in my student account and obviously didn’t check when I returned to my home country because I thought I had paid it. Fast forward to the end of January I get a letter from Conserve debt collectors telling me I owe $250ish to the University of Alabama. Fine. I believe it and I’ll pay. So I go onto the website to try and pay and it doesn’t load. I think, okay, it’s my wi-fi so let me try my data. Nope. So I contact them asking what I do and how i pay. They ask for my account details. An account I’ve never made because I can’t access the website to make the account to pay. So I give them everything I can so they can help me. This was the 30th of January. It’s now the 3rd of March. I have emailed them so many times it probably constitutes harassment but I’ve had no response since the request for account details. I’m being ghosted by debt collectors. The website still won’t load. And I’m honestly about to start screaming. My phone bill will be insane if I call them because I just know I’ll be on the phone for hours. So someone please tell me how to pay off this goddamn debt before I fully descend into madness. Thank you.
