Hi! My company over paid me on maternity leave. A portion of my pay was supposed to come from my state’s paid leave and my company was supposed to cover the balance. My company asked me to send them a recap of what I would be paid by the state once approved. While on maternity leave I sent them full screenshots from the state noting what I was being paid gross, and dates. I would be paid by the state weekly and my company pays biweekly.
My company must have miscalculated on their end, because I was overpaid by $6,300. I just returned back to work and sent a detailed email, attaching back my original email, letting them know of their mistake.
What can I expect? Has this ever happened to anyone? Part of me is regretting letting them know but I didn’t want to have them find out later on and make it look like I was stealing from them.
