Congress can't outright ban TikTok or any social media platform just like that. It has to prove that it poses legitimate and serious privacy and national security concerns that can't be addressed by any other means.
Didnt it get temporarily banned a few years ago? I remember hearing something about a ban and then my kid stopped being able to use it.
You're definitely remembering right, it was banned federally and then a few states started banning it before a judge squashed the bans.
