Haniyeh, who spent decades living in exile in Qatar, was assassinated in Iran's capital in late July. Israel has not publicly claimed responsibility for the brazen assassination.
An Israeli official says Sinwar's death goes far in terms of achieving the Israeli objective. It remains unknown who will step in to take over Hamas, or how will this play out in Tehran.
