Please help with some questions if you can or if you personally have had this experience. Yesterday my hubby & I went to explore for a new mattress. Originally we went in with the intention on looking to then order online but we got talked into buying one right there on the spot. The mattress we picked out felt perfect so l'm not skeptical about the price or anything because I feel like it will be worth the price. However, we got talked into opening a credit card account with them to purchase the mattress which came out to $1,300. When we got home we realized we were charged an extra $100 just for them to set it up and take away the mattress we currently have. $100 to me is kind of insane for something that my husband and I can do ourselves. Anyways, we decided to just let it be & think of it as their "tip" for doing the setup and haul away. But now my issue is, I feel like maybe we made a mistake with opening the credit card account rather than just paying full on the spot which we could've done as well. Because I have worked really hard to get my score at the number it is at. I got approved for $3,500 and the total transaction was $1,306.46. So my questions are, has anyone opened a mattress firm credit card? If so, how much did it affect your credit score? Can I just pay the $1300 in full and never use it again? Will me not ever using it again affect my score?
