Hi, I have a few quick questions to see if I overpaid for dental crowns that got back in October 2023. So I had/have some pretty severe cavities and just overall dental problems on a lot of my teeth. I decided to start by getting my top eight front teeth crowned because veneers wouldn’t have been an option. That would be starting from the tooth right behind the canine around to the other tooth behind the canine. I was quoted and paid US$16,000 in cash. Now online I see that crowns can go for up to 2000$ or $2500 US which would be about 16k for 8. Now since this is cosmetic, they were also top-of-the-line. Meaning they are a white metal and will last a lifetime unless one falls out and is lost somehow. They are the second whitest that you can possibly get because I didn’t want them to look fake. The dentist I went to is right at a beach on the east coast and I decided to go there because I own a beachfront condo nearby and decided to get it done while I was on a mid week to weekend vacation. The price I said, included everything shaving down the old teeth, cleaning them doing whatever needed to be done prep wise to put the crown on. it included the molding, making them, delivery to and from the lab that makes them, etc.
Do you think what I paid was reasonable, too much, or did I get completely bent over?
