Hi all, hoping somebody can let me know if it's safe to deposit this thing or not, and why the hell I'm even getting this in the first place.
I received a check for ~$200 in the mail yesterday from a local hospital, on it it has the hospitals address, parent company (UHS of Delaware) and "Disbursement Account" . It also has an invoice number, a vendor number and a vendor name (which is just my name) along with a check number. Does this sound normal? What kind of situation would lead them to be sending me a check out of nowhere?
I have not been to this hospital in nearly 10 years, and only 1 or 2 family members have gone to thus hospital in the past for random medical situations.
I would love to just go and deposit this, as money is very tight right now, but seeing as there was no other paperwork in the envelope I received it in, it just feels odd and wrong for me to have received it.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why I would be getting this?? I have tried calling the hospital itself but nobody had any ideas, and the billing department is closed until Monday so no answers there yet.
Thanks in advance for any ideas/help.
