We had an apartment fire that set off the sprinkler system for 20 minutes flooding our livingroom/diningroom/kitchen area. I have a $10,000 personal loss limit and the list I sent in about equals that (before they go through and lower value for age) but there are about a hundred or so items on that list.. QUESTION: is it normal for them to send an electronic restoration company to pick up every item on that list to be held for 2-4 weeks? This is guitars, amps, lamps, oldschool gaming systems, electronic tools, monitors, power strips, 2 cell phones, etc? All of this rather than a payout?
I'm just baffled because we have been going through hell for 3 weeks since the fire and now we have to find all of these items in the mess that is our dwelling and some of the stuff works like the lamps but with electrical issues. My phone, but is really slow and glitchy. These are things it seems crazy to send away for 2-4 weeks with no replacement.
