I started my Fidelity Roth IRA at 41 years old (late I know). I maxed it out at $13,500 and plan to max it out every year. My husband has a 401(k) and a pension and we have a good amount in savings. As I may not need the money right at retirement. That said, I am not sure I want to be constantly changing things around in the Roth IRA. I'd rather kind of set it and forget it. That is why I have been looking at target date index funds. However, I am not sure if these are too conservative? Is there a "set it and forget it" fund or portfolio that would allow me to earn a little bit more and be a little less conservative? Thank you!
