Scientists studied real-time changes in coastal wetlands over 13 years in response to rapid sea-level rise along Gulf of Mexico. Measurements at 253 monitoring sites show that 87% of these sites cannot adapt to rising sea levels, and 75% of Louisiana’s coastal wetlands could collapse by 2070.
