Hey guys! I just started an awesome full time job, fulfilling and it’s the highest I’ve ever been paid or have made ever consistently. I Went from making 14/hr part time with side jobs seldomly to make ends meet to now making about 21/hr with a full time schedule! (Went from a consistent 1200/mo to now 2800/mo after tax) Very excited about this big change. Only downside is that theres virtually no OT at this job otherwise I would’ve just done that. I’m a very motivated person and want to aggressively pay off all my debts which I got when I was younger ($7k credit cards, and 3k collections. I know this might not be a lot to some but I feel like I could never pay this off before cause the interest just traps you there) as well as save up money! So on top of my full time schedule I was thinking of picking up an easy side job that doesn’t tax me a ton mentally or physically. I know working that much can take a toll on you but I only plan on grinding this hard for max 1 year. This job and the pay has been so motivating to me, and has gotten me out of the depressive rut I was in. Having significantly more money than before has lifted a ton of stress off my shoulders and now I want to get rid of the rest which is the debt.
TLDR I was wondering (hopefully hearing from people who are currently doing it) how it is picking up and working a part time/2nd job (either in the evenings/nights/weekends) on top of a full time schedule 9-5? What worked best and what didn’t work for you? Some ideas on what to do? How was work life balance when you have a significant other?
