I hope this is the right sub for this. Anyway, long story short my husband and I recently purchased a new 2024 Toyota Crown for just under $40,000. It’s a company car that was purchased by the company we own.
I also have a 2008 Toyota Prius with 147,000 miles. I was going to sell it to a car dealer (I could get around $3,500) or privately ( could get around $5,000). The complication is that the odometer for the car mileage isn’t correct, so I’ve learned I can only sell privately and it may be more complicated.
I’m wondering: would it make financial sense to keep the 2008 Prius as a second car so I can put less miles on the new car? Insurance for the Prius is around $80 per month.
Thanks!
