Just wondering if it'd be better to try and purchase a house before we're married or after? We are planning to get married in a few months. My fiance and I live in separate states currently and are looking to buy a house and move in together when we can. I'm wondering when would be most optimal?
We both have excellent credit. I have about 20k in student debt still and currently paying. No car loans for either of us. My fiance has never bought a home. I am a current home owner and was considering on renting it out when I move to have it as an extra side of income. How much will that hurt me if I can get someone on maybe like a 1-yr lease before we try to qualify for a loan?
Any tips, tricks, stories, etc would be so helpful! Thanks!
