Site improvements, spoiler tags, and community tagging

Hello everyone!

It's been a little while since posting an update and there is a lot of good for this one!

Site Improvements

A lot of the work in the last two weeks has been focused on making this site the best that it can be and for that, it needed a lot of code improvements. All of this work was mostly under the hood and not really anything somebody should notice unless things go horribly wrong. One user's first experience using the site was not good at all and that is not something I want anybody to go through again. I've tackled a lot of the bugs they found and a lot more that hadn't been. What came out of that is a site that functions exactly as you would expect and no longer an embarrassing mess. If anybody finds anything else, please a submit a post to g/speakbitsmeta or send an email to the admin email.

Aside from this, there have been a few notable style changes to improve the look and feel of the site. Colors were tweaked and the mobile navbar has been extended along with moving out of the way when scrolling.

Spoiler Tags

Spoiler tags have now been added to the body of posts and comments. One only needs to surround the text they want to mark with ">||". For example, this is a spoiler. I hope this is useful for the community!

Community Tagging

User and group tags are now available as well. Adding an "@" symbol in front of a user name will tag the user in your post or comment and notify them that you have done so. Adding a "g/" in front of a group name will add a link to the group in your post or comment. For example, I am tagging @speakbits and g/speakbits here.

There is a lot more coming down the line and I hope to get it all out for everyone soon! If anybody is curious and hasn't seen it, I have the initial set of planned features laid out in the introduction post.

New user here. Maybe you could call out a group where we can find and comment with the few users there are? The rss bot provides content but not social interactions.

Also how do i join/sub at group and find it again? (Mobile if that matters)

Welcome! I've made a new g/general group that could serve that purpose where anyone can post anything that might not quite fit in with any other group!

On mobile, the hamburger menu on the top right will open up the sidebar. The "See groups" button will open up the groups page where you can see all the groups. Your currently joined groups will be at the top and scrolling down you'll be able see the groups you haven't joined. Each one will have a join/leave button. If you were currently viewing a group, the sidebar would also have the join/leave button as well.
