Many are banking on an inheritance to dig them out of dire straits or set them up for financial comfort down the road. Half of respondents, across all generations, regard their potential windfall as “highly critical” or “critical” to their “long-term financial security”
Of those expecting to leave an inheritance, 81% of millennials and 75% of Gen Zers say leaving something behind is their “single most important” or “very important’ financial aspiration. That’s compared to 65% ofGen Xers and 46% of boomers.
