TIL the FBI has been struggling to hire hackers for years because applicants must not have used marijuana in the past three years.

FBI Director James Comey said that in order to pursue so-called cyber criminals, the government would pretty much have to let government hackers get stoned. Congress has told the agency it needs to hire 2,000 more people this year.

The FBI won’t hire someone who has “smoked” marijuana in the last three years. Earlier this year, the feds admitted that the government isn’s very good at internet security.
