Summary

The Federal Trade Commission narrowly voted to ban nearly all noncompetes. The ban will take effect later this year. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce said it would sue the FTC to block the rule. The policy change could lead to increased wages totaling nearly $300 billion per year.

It's always felt like just a scare tactic to me. The areas were it was actually enforceable was so minute

That's true. Along with states like CA having pulled the teeth out of them, they haven't been that useful for companies for years
