For you guys who are professional interior designers or decorators, what are some certifications/qualities/ experiences you look for when skimming through intern applications?
I recently applied for an internship with a small designing business and got rejected. I have 0 hands on experience and experience with softwares. I let them know this in a heartfelt letter where I told them I was passionate and eager in learning. I was disappointed when they didnt chose me but I understood.
I'm not giving up regardless. I still want to apply for internships and build my resume and experience but the requirements from listing to listing are so varied. I really want to know what solid things would sell me to these businesses and make them want to take me under their wing.
Any advice?
