With Veilguard, Dragon Age becomes what it was probably always destined to be: A Mass Effect game

Summary

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the next installment in the popular series. The game is set in the Tevinter Imperium capital of Minrathous. A sinister hard-boiled egg named Solas is trying to dissolve the protective Veil between the physical and magical worlds.

Minrathous looks incredible. It's dark and spiky and vertiginous and awe-inspiring in all the right ways. It just didn't seem very Dragon Age, the series that kept some—I stress some—of its RPG roots. At no point did the overhead tactical view make an appearance.

Loved the first Dragon Age, 100% achievements in it. Every subsequent installment has just killed the excitement for me little by little and I don't think I have any left.

Same here. They used to be innovative and now they are just attempting catching up while failing miserably at it.
